Life cycle
The lynx female is a very protective mother.
The female gives birth once a year and when she does she lays a litter of one to six kittens. She mates in the winter (march april) so the kittens are born in may or even early June, their gestation period is from 63 to 70 days. Once born kittens are blind and helpless for the first couple of days, then they stay with their mother for about a year while they learn to hunt. Lynx live for about 15 years in the wild and 21 in captivity. Weaned at 12 weeks. The babies of the canada lynx are very cute and should have their population in numbers go up not down.
